HOW TO PLACE A BID:

  • (1) REGISTER as a Bidder. (First-time users only)


  • (2) Once registered, check your email mailbox for your Bidder I.D.


  • (3) Return to the auction.


  • (4) Select an item you want to bid on by "clicking" on the little picture or the item number.


  • (5) Click on "Enter your bid here" and type in the amount of your bid. Make sure you don't add a € sign to bid.


  • (6) If you wish, you may also place a maximum bid amount by clicking on the box "Enter Max bid here" . (What is a maximum bid? See below).


  • (7) Please complete the rest of the boxes with your Bidder ID and your Password.


  • (8) REVIEW ENTRIES FOR ACCURACY - THEN SUBMIT.


  • (9) Check back from time-to-time to see if someone has out-bid you. If you are the top bidder - an email will be sent to you notifying you that you have won! The item will be charged to your credit card and shipped to the address provided.


HOW MAX-BIDS WORK:

You may wish to place a max-bid amount, by placing one bid that will be the maximum amount that you want to spend or bid on an item.

Lets say that you may not be on-line as the auction closes, and you really want the item. Of course you don't want to bid any higher than necessary to get the item.

Now you can place a max-bid amount that the program will automatically use to be bid for you up to the amount you set. This will offer you some way to help secure an item when you are away from your computer at the close of the auction. It does not guarantee that you will get the item, only that you can bid the highest amount YOU set in advance.If another bidder exceeds your max-bid; and you don't re-bid, you will loose top bid position.

EXAMPLE:


(1) You place a max-bid of € 200 on an item with a current bid of € 100

(2) Another bidder places a bid of € 105 to defeat your € 100 bid, but you had put in a max-bid of € 200 so the program will bid for you at € 110 to keep you at top bid.

(3) This may go on for a while but finally the other bidder puts in a bid of € 205 for the item. At this point your max-bid has been exceeded by € 5 and unless you re-bid you have lost top bid position for that item.
